Uninstalling for now, I really hope some deep work goes into the roots of the current combat systems & feel before release. Wish you the best devs, I know you still have a long way to go until 1.0, but I've played way more polished first person crawlers / roguelites than this one atr this stage of development. the rat hitting you while it looks like it's 2 meters away. enemies designed to be straight up uinfair: the green orc grunt that throws blinding stuff at you that also happens to deal damage is the main offender. Having to constantly backpedal to avoid melee range while also being forced to melee due to ammo starvation. The combat system just doesn't feel right. If you have money for only one, go with Delver, gameplay feels more consistent, it has much more drops and content and it is more beautiful generally ! Plus it has the rush of the second phase (which I won't spoil) that is a totally different gameplay. To be quite honest, the combat felt super clunky, and every enemy seems way overpowered at least early game. Also both are not so infuriating to die in as most rogue lites (YES I am looking at you Enter the Gungeon, glad I didn't buy it and my friend di the mistake to ahah). My opinion : if you have money for both, get both, they're different, and playing both will allow you to get a HUGE dose of dungeon delving in a rogue-like-generated dungeon, with a real time action that is welcome to the genre. No sincerely I know I sound kinda salty xD But the game is awesome. I disagree a lot on the "Delver is easy" part too, especially since he added rooms and enemies ! Plus the main challenge in one more dungeon feels like it's the broken melee ! Sure I can destroy most melee enemies without them hitting me after only my first 2 runs, but sometimes it feels quite inconsistent (and yes I have only like 30mn in this game but I have experience with a LOT of melee systems, so I can say I'll keep feeling it inconsistent, but that won't keep me from sinking many hours into the game).Īlso not all enemies are the same in Delver ) Ther actually are ranged enemies too, they don't all have the same speed, there's no cheap rat jumping at you unavoidable if you don't have a weapon to one shot him or shoot at him (and he wasn't in a corner impossible to see from afar).
